You Only Buy What Has A Price, The Rest Is Conquered

You only buy what has a price, the rest is conquered

In the society we live in, it is very easy to confuse the material with happiness. The truth is that it is continually suggested to us that one can achieve anything only if he has material possessions. It is as if everything has a price that can be bought in coins or bills.

However, is the richest the one who has the most? It may agree that this is the case, but if we talk about emotional wealth, its price is different : it is happier who can enjoy the people who fill them, the small pleasures and the crops that they have sown with effort.

Thus, the emotions that certainly give us life are not labeled in euros, dollars or pounds, but rather they are conquered. The difference is substantial, as we will see below.

Materiality is momentary

It is true that the material facilitates the circumstances and even many times it can also give us happy moments; However, this is a momentary happiness: physical wealth can relieve us of vital needs such as hunger or decrease the feeling of sadness, but in the long run they do not increase that of psychological well-being.

For this reason, it is beneficial to consider the simplicity with which we can become slaves of the material and cope with it. Putting a price on everything is a means of making life more comfortable, but it is also very dangerous : seeing in material possessions an end in itself is clearly a sign of slavery.

In fact, a person is not defined by what they have but by what they are: limiting ourselves to judge by what they possess can give us a distorted and generally poor perspective of what someone can bring us.

It is good to be aware of what really matters to us and of its spiritual value: let’s conquer people, let’s fall in love with the world and let it, in turn, fall in love with us. In this way we will attract lasting happiness and sincere joy.

The substantial is priceless

What good is having all the money in the world if we have no one to honestly share it with? Charles Dickens already gave us a test with his  Christmas Carol : giving is much more rewarding than obsessing over stacks of something that, humanely, don’t fill us up.

We can be very happy if instead of paying for our dreams, we fight to conquer them. Moreover, in the future it will make us feel full and satisfied with ourselves having understood how far we are capable of going to fulfill them.

The same thing happens when it comes to conquering people, not only in the loving sense: from our parents to our children, through the friendships and loves that we have. They, too, will realize the inspiration of valuing others : there is no better gift than a heart.

Happiness is not bought, it is conquered

Do not hesitate and start to conquer everything that you know you can never buy, but it is within your reach. We need to lose the fear of leaving our comfort zone to offer what we are without restrictions and learn from those around us: well, no, it is not the richest who has the most money, but what is done by and for oneself and others .

Of course, the mere fact of waiting to be happy is not going to cause us to be happy: every conquest requires courage, a lot of love, courage and some failure. Remember that they say that if you want to feel rich you have to tell everything you have that cannot be bought.
